Hydrogen Ford Focused On Florida

Members of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Progress Energy Florida and the United States Department of Energy (DOE) recently joined officials from Ford Motor Company (Ford) and British Petroleum (BP) to celebrate the opening of a new Hydrogen fueling station in Oviedo, Florida.

The new station will be used by six Hydrogen powered Ford Focus vehicles as a part of a 30 strong Ford Focus fuel cell demonstration fleet currently being tested in the United States, Canada and Germany.

The Hydrogen fueling station in Oviedo is the second to be opened in the state in the last six months with Florida's first Hydrogen station opened in Orlando in May of 2007. The Hydrogen fueling stations are a part of the Controlled Hydrogen Fleet and Infrastructure Demonstration and Validation Project, a joint initiative between Ford and the DOE.
